Scholarship Summary: 
Arkansas Tech University's Honors Program is offered to incoming domestic freshmen with outstanding academic achievements. Arkansas Tech University's Honors Program is designed to elevate the college learning experience. To maintain a sense of community and enhance personal learning skills, honors courses are conscientiously designed to be small in size and to promote interaction, not only with peers, but with professors as well.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be considered, high school seniors must;
i. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and
ii. Either top 10% of your graduating class or a minimum ACT Composite score of 27 
iii. Graduating senior and admitted as first-time entering undergraduate on the main campus

Value of Scholarship: 
If accepted into the University Honors Program, recipients will be awarded a University Honors Stipend which is bundled with an ATU academic scholarship award.

To apply;

1. 
Complete the university application process for Honors Interview Consideration by December 15.
    - Early Admission to the University (you need to first be admitted to Tech): 
  • An early admission file includes an application for undergraduate admission and current high school transcript with a qualifying GPA and ACT/SAT exam score. The application for undergraduate admission and all supporting documentation must be on completed and processed in order to apply for University Honors. If using rank in class to qualify for Honors, rank must be documented on the transcript received.
    - Proof of Critical Writing Skills in your Honors Application 
  • After securing your early admission standing, use the submission portal to submit your essay.
2. Review of admitted freshmen who have an Honors Application on file, including essay, beginning at noon on December 15
3. Notification of students of next steps begins after January 1.
4. You cannot apply to Honors until after you have been admitted to Tech.

The University Honors selection process is highly competitive; therefore, students who apply for the University Honors Program will also be considered for regular academic scholarships. If accepted into the University Honors Program, recipients will be awarded a University Honors Stipend.
