The UK £4,000 Undergraduate Scholarship will primarily target underrepresented and disadvantaged students in Higher Education, bringing together inspirational courses, innovative staff, to create a better future and #TakeOnTomorrow. This award is for UK/Home students applying to study at Northumbria University on a Full-Time Undergraduate course in the academic year 2025/26.
To be considered for the Northumbria Undergraduate Award you must also;
- Be a UK/Home applicant (Home includes UK students and those eligible to pay Home fees)
- Apply and enrol to study on a on a Full-Time basis on an Undergraduate Course starting in first year at Level 4 at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, commencing September 2025
In addition, students need to meet one of the three following characteristics to be considered;
- You live in a neighbourhood with a low progression rate to Higher Education. Please use your main home address and not your term time address and use the Postcode Checker to check your neighbourhood progression rate**
- You are from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background
- You have declared a physical and/or mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference on your UCAS form
**If your POLAR4 young participation quintile is identified as 1 or 2, you will be eligible to apply OR; After searching your postcode, click view detailed results and if your TUNDRA MSOA quintile is identified as 1 or 2, you will be eligible to apply (This only applies to applicants living in England}
Successful students will receive a total of £4,000, paid in instalments* throughout years one, two and three.
- The Northumbria Undergraduate Award is awarded as cash
- *Payments will be made as £335 (25%) by the end of November, £335 (25%) by the end of February and £665 (50%) by the end of May
