Scholarship Summary:
If you are a UK (Home) student looking to undertake an undergraduate degree at the University of York, you could be eligible for the York Bursary, depending on your residual household income.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
In order to be eligible for the York Bursary, you must:
i. be a UK resident
ii. have a residual household taxable gross income of £35,000 or less (including pensions)
iii. be studying full-time at the University in 2024/25 and be paying the UK fee rate
iv. be registered on an undergraduate degree course
Social Work students will only be considered for the York Bursary in years when they do not receive the NHS Social Work Bursary.
Value of Scholarship:
The York Bursary is awarded as follows;
i. For the first year, all recipients receive £2,000
ii. For subsequent years, recipients receive either £1,000 or £1,100 depending on their household income
If you live on campus, the bursary will be paid directly to Accommodation Services. If you live in private sector accommodation, the bursary will be paid directly into your bank account in three instalments (usually in October, January and April).
Scholarship Application Guide:
The University of York will automatically assess your eligibility based on your residual household income, using the information supplied in your application for Student Loans.
Eligible students will be informed by the end of October 2024. A letter informing you of your bursary award will be made available via e:Vision.
