Scholarship Summary:
Henderson State University offers a wide variety of academic scholarships for domestic incoming freshmen students. Freshman academic scholarships are awarded for eight consecutive semesters or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first, provided the student maintains all scholarship requirements.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. be admitted to the university
ii. have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75
ii. have a minimum ACT composite score of 20
Value of Scholarship:
The Henderson Freshman scholarship are valued as follows;
a) Distinguished - Full Tuition {Required: 26+ ACT (or SAT equivalent) and 4.0+ cumulative high school GPA, live on campus}
b) Chancellor - $6,000 {Required GPA: 4.0+ GPA}
c) Centurium - $4,500 {Required GPA: 3.5-3.99 GPA}
d) Red & Gray - $2,500 {Required GPA: 3.1-3.49 GPA}
e) Reddie Spirit - $1,000 {Required GPA: Below 3.1 GPA}
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. The application for admission serves as the application for academic scholarships. All supporting documentation must be received and processed by the Office of Enrollment Services and Admissions by April 30 (completed application, all transcripts, official test scores).
ii. Students that accept their academic scholarship award are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Henderson State.
iii. A select number of students will be awarded the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship and will also have automatic admission to the Honors College.
