Scholarship Summary:
The MU Honors Program seeks to attract motivated and academically accomplished domestic students, and provide an interdisciplinary educational program as well as, unique learning opportunities that engage and challenge students.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are a few ways you can join the Honors Program at Manchester University and be eligible for the scholarships available:
1. You can be invited to apply.
Prospective students who submit a completed application for admission by December 1 AND are rewarded a Presidential (3.9+ GPA) will be invited to apply to the Honors Program.
2. Students already enrolled or who are transferring to Manchester University must:
i. have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, with at least 12+ credit hours
ii. complete the online application (Honors Program Application)
iii. return Faculty Recommendation Form to the Honors Director (Pam Haynes)
Value of Scholarship:
The Manchester's Honors Scholarships are valued as follows;
a. One Honors Scholarship which covers tuition, fees, room and board annually.
b. Multiple Trustee's Scholarships valued as up to $2,000 more than the Presidential Scholarship (for up to four years).
The above scholarships replace the Presidential Scholarship. Honors and Trustee Scholars must maintain a 3.5 CGPA, maintain active status in the Honors Program, and graduate with the Honors or the Honors & Achievement Honors Program level.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply,
i. High school seniors who are admitted to the University and awarded a Presidential Scholarship are invited to apply for the Honors Program. Though the final deadline for applying to the Honors Program is May 1, students who apply by December 1, are in the pool of candidates considered for these top scholarships.
ii. The Honors Program committee will review applications and applicants will be invited to Manchester University's Scholarship Day (Dec. 7, 2024) for a unique opportunity to interview with faculty and current students of the Honors Program to determine acceptance into the Honors Program and so that the Honors Committee can narrow down finalists and award the Honors and Trustee Scholarships.
iii. All applicants who attend will receive letters by mid-December on these decisions.
