Scholarship Summary:
The H. Harrison McCain Bursaries/Scholarships are open to high school students from across Canada who will be attending the University of New Brunswick. The number of available scholarships/bursaries vary from year to year.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The criteria for this Scholarship include;
i. A minimum average of 80% in your senior year of high school
ii. Financial need
iii. Leadership qualities
iv. Recognized initiative in funding your own education
Value of Scholarship:
The Harrison McCain Scholarship/Bursary is valued as CAD$16,000 payable over a four-year course of study in the amount of CAD$4,000 per year
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Submit a completed application form and be admitted into UNB.
ii. Submit the following documents to the UNB’s Undergraduate Awards Office;
- Completed and signed scholarship application form
- A letter from your Principal, Teacher or Counsellor with their telephone number on an official letterhead paper
- A letter from an employer, volunteer organization or an individual (non-family) who has known you for at least two years with his/her telephone number
- A personal essay outlining your extracurricular activities, leadership, financial need, work experience and career plans, as well as what receiving this scholarship/bursary would mean to you.
- The completed application package may be emailed to the Undergraduate Awards Office as a single PDF, faxed or mailed with the required signatures. The applicant must be able to supply the original documentation to the Undergraduate Awards Office upon request;
