2025-26 St. Francis Xavier Public Policy & Governance Entrance Scholarships (Canada Based)

Scholarship Summary: 
Canadian first-year fulltime undergraduate students applying for entry into the StFX Public Policy and Governance course are eligible for a host of merit scholarships awarded by Saint Francis Xavier. International students are eligible for the Scotiabank Entrance Scholarship only.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum average of 85% in their high school academic records (eligibility is based on five final grade 12 university preparatory level courses at the end of the school year).
ii. Have demonstrated StFX qualities of leadership and service to community.

Value of Scholarship: 
The StFX PGOV Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney Scholarships – CAD$60,000 (CAD$15,000, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 2, Min average requirement: 90%}
ii. Sobeys Entrance Scholarship – CAD$40,000 (CAD$10,000, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 2, Min average requirement: 80%}
iii. Irving Entrance Scholarship – CAD$20,000 (CAD$5,000, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 3, Min average requirement: 85%}
iv. Mila Mulroney Scholarship for African Nova Scotian Students – CAD$20,000 (CAD$5,000, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 4, Min average requirement: 70%}
v. Scotiabank Entrance Scholarship – CAD$16,000 (CAD$4,000, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 1, Min average requirement: 85%}
vi. Dahdaleh Scholarship for Indigenous students – CAD$20,000 (CAD$4,000, renewable for 5 years) {Number available: 4, Min average requirement: 70%}
vi. Joyce Family Bursaries: CAD$3,000 (awarded over 4 years) {Number available: 25, Award based on financial need}
vii. Guy R. Savard Bursary – CAD$50,000 (CAD$12,500, renewable for 4 years) {Number available: 1, Open to students from rural Quebec enrolling directly from high school/CEGEP and taking courses associated with Public Policy and Governance Program. Must demonstrate financial need}

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
1. You must submit an application for admission to StFX by March 1.
2. Applicants must complete and submit a StFX Major or Separate Application Based scholarship application  by March 1 AST.
3. Applicants must ensure two (2) StFX Major Scholarship reference forms are completed and submitted by March 1 AST. 
  • All scholarship applications will need two (2) or more references to support a submitted StFX scholarship application.
  • When completing a Major scholarship, applicants will be required to provide two (2) references, full names, email addresses and contact phone number. 
  • When completing a reference form, references will be required to provide applicants information in order to submit the reference form; they will need applicant’s first name, last name, StFX student ID number and email address.
4. Applicants must submit their first-semester grade 12 transcript(s) by March 1 AST.
