Scholarship Summary:
The Capital Scholars Honors Program provides academically well-prepared and motivated students a unique opportunity to develop creative thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills through a high-quality educational experience based in the liberal arts. Students (domestic and international) admitted to the Capital Scholars Honors Program will receive the Capital Scholars Merit Scholarship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have;
i. Minimum grade-point average of 3.25/4.0 for admission consideration
ii. Creative and leadership potential.
Value of Scholarship:
Capital Scholars receive the following benefits;
i. Chancellor’s Scholarship (4.0 GPA) - Up to 16 credit hours tuition and housing each semester*
ii. Provost’s Scholarship (4.0 GPA) - $8,000
iii. Dean’s Scholarship (3.75-3.99 GPA) - $7,000
iv. Honors Scholarship (3.50-3.74 GPA) - $6,000
v. Honors Award (3.25-3.49 GPA) - $5,000
*Competitive and open to all students who are admitted to CAP Honors with a 4.0 unweighted GPA. Up to five awards each year
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an admission application; freshman applicants who are eligible for the Honors Program will automatically be reviewed by the Honors Program; no extra application is required.
ii. A personal and academic goals statement MUST be submitted with your application for honors consideration.
iii. A personal or telephone interview with a member of the admissions committee (made up of Capital Scholars Honors faculty and administrators) may also be part of the selection process.
