'25 Luther College International Undergraduate Need-Based Aid (US Based)

Scholarship Summary: 
Luther College awards a number of need-based financial aid to incoming international undergraduates to help in offsetting some of their tuition cost.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
All incoming international students will be awarded one or more need-based aid.

Value of Scholarship: 
The Luther International Need-Based Aid are valued as follows;

i. Global Leaders Scholarships are are awarded to international students and U.S. students living abroad at time of admission to Luther. The scholarship recognizes the talents and leadership potential of students from around the world whose very presence on campus connects LC deeply, personally, and globally

ii. Luther International Student Health Insurance Grant, currently valued at $2,000, is awarded to international students to cover the estimated cost of health insurance for one year. The grant is renewed each year.

iii. Luther Transition Grant, valued at $800, is provided for all incoming international students to help them make a smooth adjustment to college life in the U.S. This is a one-time award, and it is intended to help new students pay for expenses related to textbooks, school supplies and other initial personal expenses.

iv. Luther College Work Study, an on-campus job, is guaranteed to every international student who chooses to work on campus. Students earn approximately $3,400 by working 12-13 hours per week during the academic year. The earnings can be saved or used to pay for educational and personal expenses throughout the year.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
There is no separate application for these awards; need-based aid is awarded automatically to eligible students upon admission.

The awarding is based on a full review of the admissions file, including the applicant’s school performance, course rigor, demonstrated need, teacher recommendations, and other established criteria.
