The International Student Leadership Award is awarded to seven (7) international students who are entering their first year of full-time, four-year undergraduate degree program at Ryerson University and demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. You must be an international student starting your first year of a Canadian post-secondary institution on a full-time basis.
ii. You must be required to pay international tuition fees.
iii. You must have a final admission average of at least 86%, an A, or an equivalent.
iv. If a gap year was taken, it must be no longer than one academic year.
Value of Scholarship:
The International Student Leadership Award for fall 2026 has a value of $10,000CAD, for up to 53 recipients. This award is entrance-only and is non-renewable.

To apply,
i. Submit a complete application for admission into TMU.
- Once you have received your Student Number, activate your online identity, if you have not done so already, to access AwardSpring.
ii. Log on to and complete the general application to be matched and considered for entrance scholarships.
iii. On your AwardSpring dashboard, you will only see entrance scholarships that you are qualified for and you will have the ability to complete follow-ups for those opportunities such as written statements, letters of references and more!
iv. For this application, you will be asked for the following:
- A Personal Statement
vi. Upon completing the follow-ups for an entrance scholarship, you can continue to check on AwardSpring for a decision on your application. Please monitor your personal email and Student Portal for updates regarding scholarship decisions.
