Scholarship Summary:
In keeping with its commitment to the Francophonie, the University of Ottawa will offer a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship to international Francophone and Francophile students who are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program. This significant contribution means that tuition fees paid by these international students will be nearly the same as those paid by Canadian students.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered for scholarship, students must;
For Undergraduate students
i. accept an offer of admission into a program offered in French; and
ii. be enrolled full time and take at least three courses taught in French per term (9 units).
OR
iii. accept an offer of admission into a program offered in English with a French immersion option; and
iv. meet the admission requirements of the French Immersion stream; and
v. be enrolled full time and take at least three courses taught in French per term (9 units).
For Graduate students
i. accept an offer of admission into a program of study offered only in French;
OR
ii. hold a secondary or postsecondary diploma attesting to a minimum of two years of study in French; and
iii. for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (English and French), enrol in the compulsory courses offered in French.
Value of Scholarship:
The UOttawa Differential Tuition Fee Scholarship as follows;
i. For undergraduate students, scholarship amounts range from CAD$10,200 – CAD$16,000
ii. For graduate students, scholarship amounts range from CAD$5,500 – CAD$11,000
The Differential Tuition Fee Scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the eligibility criteria is met and will be directly applied to their tuition fees.
