Scholarship Summary: 
JHU offers need-based scholarships to international undergraduate students. Hopkins is need-aware for international students, meaning that financial circumstances are considered in the admissions process. Hopkins meets 100% of calculated need for all students, including international students. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Meet the requirements for admission (deadline is Jan, 2, 2025);
ii. Have significant demonstrated financial need.

*It’s important to note that only approximately 10% of international freshmen will receive need-based scholarships.

Value of Scholarship: 
JHU International Undergraduate Financial Aid covers 100% of demonstrated financial aid. The average scholarship for international students is $25,000 annually but individual amounts can be more or less, depending on the financial need of the student. 

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply
i. Complete an application for admission into JHU by January 2, 2025.
  • If you are an international student and you think that your family will need financial aid, be sure to indicate this on the admissions application.
ii. Complete and submit the CSS Profile (code 5332).
  • If you are unable to complete the CSS Profile, JHU encourages you to complete the free alternative form, the Johns Hopkins University International Student Financial Aid Application.
  • Please allow 5 to 7 days for JHU to process your application. You can check the status of your International Student Financial Aid Application on your Financial Aid Checklist in your applicant portal. Please note the CSS Profile will show as ‘Waived,’ and no further action is required. Student Financial Support will contact you directly if JHU needs the full CSS Profile or any additional supporting documents.
iii. As your application is reviewed and more additional information is required, you will receive an email from College Board’s IDOC Service requesting documentation of your family’s income and providing instructions on how to upload it

iv. International students applying for financial aid must also submit the International Student Certification of Finances (COF) form, that they access through their application portal. Without this document your application will be incomplete.
