Scholarship Summary: 
Southwestern College’s merit-based award recognizes two domestic freshmen students who demonstrate outstanding academic abilities. The Pillars Academic scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship (renewable for four years if criteria are met) awarded to students who we believe will make Southwestern College a stronger, more vibrant intellectual community.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The following criteria are considered for eligibility;
i. 3.5 or greater cumulative high school GPA OR 25 or higher ACT composite score (or equivalent SAT)
ii. Unique and creative outlook on approaching problems and difficulties
iii. Intellectually and creatively adventurous
iv. An engaged learner
v. High School Honor student

Value of Scholarship: 
The Pillar’s Scholarship covers the full tuition cost and is renewable annually for up to four years.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. You must submit your application for admission and supporting materials to SC by Wednesday, November 1, 2024.
ii. Complete the Pillars Academic Scholarship Application form by the deadline.
iii. Selected finalists will receive invitations to participate in the scholarship competition. The competition consists of a timed essay and an interview with faculty/staff members. Each finalist who competes will receive a renewable $1,000 scholarship.  
iv. Two finalists will be selected, based on the outcome of the essay and interview, to receive a renewable full-tuition scholarship for four years.

Note: SC is able to consider each student for either the Pillars Academic or Moundbuilder Spirit Scholarship, not both.
