Scholarship Summary:
UMF awards institutional Merit-Based Scholarships for Maine non-resident undergraduate students, who have performed well in their high school academic courses. All awards are renewable and available for up to a total of eight semesters, provided the student remains in good academic standing and maintains full-time enrollment of at least twelve credit hours per semester at UMF.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum re-calculated GPA of 2.75
GPA will be determined by a recalculation during the review. Typically, students with a B average will receive some form of Merit Award. Students with averages above B in academic courses can be considered for the other scholarships.
Value of Scholarship:
The UMF Maine Non-resident merit-based scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Success Scholarship I: $8,000 per year {3.5+ Required GPA} ($5,000 for New England students)
ii. Success Scholarship II: $6,000 per year {3.25 – 3.49 Required GPA} ($3.500 for New England students)
iii. Success Scholarship III: $4,000 per year {2.75 – 3.24 Required GPA} ($2,000 for New England students)
