Scholarship Summary:
The Coastal Scholarship Commitment Program provides admissions-based scholarships to high-achieving out-of-state domestic students. With a special emphasis on a student’s GPA and the rigor of coursework completed, a range of scholarship amounts are awarded at the time of admission. No additional application is required to be considered for admissions-based scholarships..
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration,
i. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in order to qualify for admissions-based scholarships.
ii. Standardized test scores, such as the SAT and ACT, are optional for admissions and may be considered if they are available at the time of the scholarship review.
Value of Scholarship:
The UM Machias Out-of-state Coastal Scholarship ranges between $2,000 - $6,000 annually. Award amounts are disbursed in two equal installments, one at the beginning of the fall semester and one at the beginning of the spring semester, as credit toward the student’s tuition account.
First-Year awards are renewable for up to a total of 8 semesters , provided that the student meets specific renewal criteria.

A separate application is not required to qualify; simply complete your admissions application and you will automatically be reviewed for eligibility when the Admissions Committee makes a decision on your application.
