Scholarship Summary:
Science Merit Awards recognize CMU students (Canadian and International) who display curiosity about the natural world and who desire to enter a science program at CMU. Each year, 2 Science Merit Awards are awarded to students entering CMU.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for consideration include;
• Completing a high school diploma or is transferring from another post-secondary. (If transferring, the award would be prorated to begin at 2nd or 3rd year whatever is applicable to the credits transferred.)
• Is accepted into the Bachelor of Science
• Plans to enroll in full-time studies at CMU (minimum 9 credit hours per semester)
Continuing Eligibility:
• GPA of 3.5
• Enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester at CMU
• Continued enrolment in a CMU science degree
Value of Scholarship:
The CMU Science Merit Awards are valued up to CAD$1,500 per year, for four years.
Scholarship Application Guide:
The following are required to be considered for the Science Merit Award:
1. A completed Bachelor of Science Intent Form, including a 250 answer to the question posed by the science faculty group (is on the intent form). This must be completed through your application portal.
2. A nomination form submitted by someone who can recommend you to CMU's science program. This will be automatically sent to your nominator at the time of form completion.
Application forms must be submitted by February 28 to be eligible.
