Scholarship Summary: 
Three Herringham Scholarships are available to new full or part-time Home or International students studying for a taught Masters degree within the Department of History (see list of eligible courses below).  

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible;
i. You must have achieved, or be expected to achieve, a First Class Honours degree or equivalent. 
ii. You must have a conditional or unconditional offer to study a course within:

Value of Scholarship: 
The Holloway Herringham Scholarship is valued as a tuition fee reduction of £7,900. One scholarship is available for the 2024/25 academic year.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. You must apply via the online system Royal Holloway Applicant portal, where you will be able to complete your statement and upload any required documents including your grades transcript.

ii. You must provide a supporting statement of no longer than 500 words which should include: 
    • Academic achievements you are particularly proud of
    • Why have you chosen to do the degree you have applied for 
    • How will you use the MA in your future research and career path and how will the scholarship help you achieve it.

Your statement will be judged on how effectively and convincingly you respond to the above. Applications which exceed the word count will automatically be rejected. 

iii. As well as your statement, you will need to upload your most recent grades transcript from your undergraduate degree. Any applications that are submitted without an uploaded transcript (and reference) will be rejected.

iv. You must have an academic reference letter (up to 200 words). This must be from an academic who has previously supported, taught or worked with you. Please ask the academic to email their reference letter (on official headed paper) directly to RHPS@rhul.ac.uk.
