Scholarship Summary:
Four Vice-Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarships are available to new international students paying international tuition fee rates and enrolling on a full-time postgraduate programme at Queen’s University Belfast in the academic year 2024/25.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship;
i. Students must hold an offer of a full-time place at the Queen’s University Belfast campus for the academic year 2025/26 on one of the postgraduate taught programmes specified below:
- MSc Accounting, Finance and Analytics
- MSc Advanced Architectural Design
- MSc Advanced Food Safety
- MSc Animal Behaviour and Welfare
- MSc Artificial Intelligence
- MA Arts Management
- MSc Bioinformatics & Computational Genomics
- MSc Biopharmaceutical Engineering
- Master of Business Administration MBA
- Master of Business Administration MBA with Internship
- MSc Business Analytics
- MSc (Res) Cancer Medicine
- MSc Climate Change
- MSc Clinical Anatomy
- MSc Ecological Management & Conservation Biology
- MSc Educational Leadership
- MSc Experimental Medicine
- MPH Global Health
- MSc Industrial Pharmaceutics
- LLM Intellectual Property Law
- LLM International Commercial and Business Law
- MSc International Public Policy
- LLM Law and Technology
- MSc Marketing
- MA Media and Broadcast Production
- MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

The offer must be confirmed as the applicant’s FIRM choice by the scholarship deadline.
ii. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Postgraduate Taught.
iii. Applicants must have accepted their offer of a place to study on one of the specified programmes by the scholarship deadline.
iv. Students must be self-funded.
NOTE:
- Only the programmes listed under Point i are eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Postgraduate Taught 2025/26, all other programmes are excluded from eligibility.
- PG Certificate, PG Diploma programmes, Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes are also excluded from eligibility
Value of Scholarship:
The Vice-Chancellor’s International Attainment scholarship will provide 50% of the cost of tuition fees and is awarded each year for up to a maximum of two years and is deducted annually from gross tuition fees upon enrolment
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship,
i. You must submit a short video and complete the online application form.
- Only those applicants who meet the criteria for the award as detailed in the terms and conditions will be able to complete the online application.
- This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. The successful candidates will be contacted in the first instance by telephone, if you have not been contacted by the end of July 2025 you may assume you have been unsuccessful.
ii. Your video should be on the following topic:
Why you want to come and study at Queen's University Belfast and how you believe your programme of choice will benefit you in your future career aspirations.
- Videos should be a piece to camera where you speak directly to the selection committee through the camera.
- The criteria is not for a high quality video production, you will be judged on the content and the quality of presentation skills only.
- Incorporating creative or highly technical production techniques will not gain additional marks.
- Listen to your video before submitting and make sure that your voice can be heard. Background noise can interfere with recordings, e.g., air conditioning or traffic noise. Any videos that cannot clearly be heard or understood due to excessive background noise will not be accepted.
- Any videos that exceed the requested length of 2 minutes will NOT be considered
- Please ensure that your video can be opened and viewed by us using VLC media player. VLC media player supports many video file formats, and we would recommend MP4. If your video cannot open, your submission will not be accepted.
- It is recommended that applicants use the WeTransfer programme to send the video and that you test it to ensure that it can be opened, before sending.to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk
- Please ensure that you clearly identify your submission by including your Queen's University Belfast application reference and your full name. This can be included in the message section when sending your video file by WeTransfer
