Scholarship Summary:
The University of Brighton bursary is for UK undergraduate students starting their course at the University of Brighton in academic year 2026-27. Your eligibility is assessed based on your application to Student Finance England for their full undergraduate funding package.
This bursary is also available to eligible full-time students starting an undergraduate degree or postgraduate students starting a designated non-salaried PGCE course or designated postgraduate pre-registration health course in academic year 2026–27.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this bursary, you must;
ii. Be normally resident in England
iii. Be a UK National or an Irish Citizen or have settled status
iv. Have been living in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for 3 continuous years before the first day of your course
v. Have a residual household income of up to £25,000 per year
vi. Be assessed as eligible for the full Student Finance England undergraduate loans funding package (including maximum level of maintenance loan)
vii. Not in receipt of our care leaver or estranged student bursary.
Your eligibility for this bursary will be re-assessed each academic year.
Value of Scholarship:
The award is a cash bursary of £500 in each year of study and will be paid in two equal instalments in January and May of each year.
Scholarship Application Guide:
You do not need to make a separate application to be considered for this bursary. Your eligibility will be automatically assessed based on the information you have provided to UCAS and Student Finance England.
Please make sure that you:
i. Apply to Student Finance England as soon as you can. Applications usually open in spring term.
ii. Agree to Student Finance England sharing the information. Contact Student Finance England if you are not sure whether you have given this permission.
You will be emailed by the end of November to confirm whether you will receive this bursary for the academic year.
