Scholarship Summary:
The University of Connecticut is proud to be a Stamps Family Charitable Foundation partner and will be awarding the Stamps Scholars Awards to exceptional (domestic and international) high school seniors. Please note that selection is highly competitive.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this award, students must
i. Be a student enrolled in and expected to graduate from a secondary school system and enroll at the University of Connecticut beginning fall semester 2025
ii. Be involved in leadership activities through secondary school and/or community
iii. Have demonstrated a commitment to community service
iv. Submission of standardized test scores is optional and is not required for Stamps Scholarship eligibility.
- First-year applicants may choose whether or not to submit results from standardized tests through the fall 2026 admission cycle. No admission decision shall be impacted, and no student disadvantaged, if a standardized test score is not provided.
- Applicants choosing to provide a standardized test score should achieve a minimum combined SAT Score of 1370 or an ACT composite score of 30.
v. Applicants should have a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale and rank (if available) in the top 10% of their graduating class
Selection process takes into consideration the following:
- Academic achievement (including rank in class, if available; GPA; and optional standardized test scores)
- Letters of recommendation
- Short answer responses
- Leadership in school and community
- Interview (determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee)
Value of Scholarship:
The UConn Stamps Scholarship will offer a full support scholarship (tuition, room and board, fees, books, transportation, miscellaneous) annually. Funding for enrichment experiences (up to $12,000 per student) is available.
Students awarded the Stamps Scholars Award will be guaranteed admissions to UConn's highly selective Honors Program and have access to other opportunities such as the University Scholar Program.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. The undergraduate admissions application as well as all required documents must be completed by November 1.
ii. After submitting the Common Application or applying Coalition on Scoir, applicants will receive an email within two days that provides instruction on how to access the applicant portal where the Stamps Scholarship Supplemental Application is provided.
- The Stamps Scholarship Supplemental Application must be submitted by November 8, 2024.
iii. Selected students will then be invited to have a required interview with the Admissions staff and the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation.
