Scholarship Summary:
The Presidential Scholar Award is a prestigious award offered to top-performing domestic freshmen students by the Honors College and the Office of Admissions of BGSU. Presidential Scholars Award (PSA) recipients are students who lead the Honors College and the Honors Learning Community through their work inside and outside of the classroom.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must
• Obtain a minimum of 3.8 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Score a minimum 30 ACT composite or 1390 SAT [Evidence-Based Reading and Writing]
In addition, the Presidential Scholar Selection Committee will be looking out for students that;
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity in and out of the classroom
• Are self-motivated
• Have a record of academic excellence
• Are reflective in your writing and thinking
• Open to new ideas
• Willing to be challenged and engaged in your education
Value of Scholarship:
The Presidential Scholars Award is an in-state tuition scholarship and is renewable. In addition to receiving a full in-state tuition scholarship, PSA students also work collaboratively in a cohort with other top scholars to help improve the Honors College during their time at BGSU.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission and be admitted by November 15, 2024 including ACT or SAT test scores and official high school transcript.
ii. Complete an Honors College application and submit to the Honors College by November 15, 2024.
iii. Selected applicants will be invited to a scholarship competition hosted by The Honors College and the Office of Admissions.
