Scholarship Summary:
RIT offers merit-based scholarships to incoming freshmen students (domestic and international) who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, receive exemplary letters of recommendation, and strong exam scores. Other factors are also considered such as; community involvement, outstanding leadership, service, entrepreneurship, citizenship, creativity or other characteristics that the university deems of value. Students who meet the eligibility requirements for multiple RIT merit-based scholarships will be awarded the highest valued scholarship unless otherwise indicated.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria but past recipients were in the top 45% of the applicant pool.
Value of Scholarship:
The RIT Freshman Merit Awards are namely as follows;
i. RIT Presidential Scholarship
ii. RIT Founders Scholarship
iii. RIT Recognition Scholarship
iv. RIT Tiger Pride Award
All awards are renewable for up to 8 semesters as long as student remains in good academic standing.
