Scholarship Summary:
Merit scholarships at Sarah Lawrence College are awarded to first-year applicants (US citizens and residents only) at the discretion of the Office of Admission upon admittance to the College. Recipients are chosen by the admission selection committees, based on past academic and personal achievement as well as the potential for accomplishments during the student’s four years at the College.

There are no set criteria but past recipients were in the top 40% of the applicant pool.
Value of Scholarship:
The Sarah Lawrence Freshman Merit Scholarships vary in amount. These awards are renewed annually based on continued academic success.

There is no separate scholarship application; every student who applies to the College is automatically considered for a merit scholarship.
