Scholarship Summary: 
Domestic freshmen students will be awarded the top academic scholarship that they qualify for based on their cumulative high school GPA upon admission into Saginaw Valley State University.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 3.0

Value of Scholarship:
The SVSU Freshman Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Founder’s Scholarship: $6,500 annually {Required: 3.95+ GPA}
ii. Dean’s Scholarship: $5,000 annually {Required: 3.70-3.94 GPA}
iii. Cardinal Scholarship: $4,000 annually {Required: 3.40-3.69 GPA}
iv. University Scholarship: $3,000 annually {Required: 3.00-3.39 GPA}

Additional Stackable Scholarships
i. Academic Excellence Scholarship: $1,500 {Non-renewable. 1380+ SAT/31+ ACT required}
ii. Valley Housing Scholarship: $1,500 {Renewable for four years, must live on campus}
iii. Red & White Award: Reduced Tuition {Available for non-Michigan residents, Min. 2.5+ GPA required}
