Scholarship Summary:
CSU is committed to rewarding academic brilliance and will award the Honors Scholarship to all incoming freshmen (domestic) admitted into the competitive Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Honors College. Honors students at CSU enjoy an enriched curriculum, individualized attention from faculty and advisors, scholarship support, and a rich array of academic and extracurricular opportunities. Approximately 40 first-year college students and 20 college juniors enter the program each fall.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The following are criteria for eligibility;
i. Incoming freshmen applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria to be considered for admission:
a. 30 ACT Composite score, OR
b. 1380 SAT score, OR
c. Rank in the top 10% of high school class.
ii. Incoming freshmen must attend CSU full-time, beginning the summer of fall following their high school graduation.
Value of Scholarship:
Students admitted to the program receive a scholarship that covers full tuition at the in-state tuition rate and other associated fees. The Honors Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters and students must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

To apply;
1. Apply online to Cleveland State University application and indicate your interest in applying to the Mandel Honors college.
- Applicants MUST be admitted to CSU prior to review of your Honors application
2. You will be subsequently be prompted to submit the following supplemental materials:
- An application essay (choice of prompts will be provided).
- Two letters of reference are required. Applicants are encouraged to seek letters from reviewers able to comment on the student’s ability to complete honors-level work in their major.
