Scholarship Summary: 
Northwest Missouri State University is awarding automatic merit scholarships to eligible incoming domestic and international freshmen who have performed excellently in their academics.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, 
i. Obtain a minimum GPA of 2.75
ii. Have a minimum ACT score of 19 (or 980 SAT)

Value of Scholarship: 
The NMSU Freshman Scholarships are valued as follows;
1. Admission-Based Freshman Scholarships (For all students)
i. Provost Scholar: $6,000 per year
ii. Dean's Scholar: $5,000 per year
iii. Distinguished Scholar: $4,000 per year
iv. Academic Excellence: $3,000 per year
v. University Scholar: $1,500 per year
vi. Northwest Merit: $1,000 per year

2. Bearcat Advantage (For Missouri non-residents) {These scholarships can be stacked with the above admission-based freshmen scholarships}
i. Bearcat Advantage: $8,052 per year (100% reduction in the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition based on an estimate of 30 credit hours for the fall/spring semester)

The above scholarships require completion of 24 credit hours per academic year and a specified Northwest cumulative GPA (more details in the scholarship link below) to be renewed annually.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
There is no separate scholarship application; simply submit your admission application by the deadline specified. Admission-based scholarships have admission application deadline of May 1 to guarantee scholarship awards.

For students who complete their admission application after May 1, scholarships will be awarded contingent upon available funding.
