Scholarship Summary:
Alfred State College is delighted to award a number of merit scholarships to academically gifted international freshmen students.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
These are the criteria for scholarship eligibility;
1. International Cultural Scholarship
Applicants must be accepted international students who have high school or college GPA of 2.5.
2. International Excellence Scholarship
Applicants must be international students who meet two of the following four criteria:
a. 213 TOEFL exam score (79-80 on Internet-based exam, 550 on paper exam),
b. 3.25 college GPA (90 or 3.4 overall high school average may be substituted),
c. 1270 combined reading/writing and math SAT,
d. and/or are a member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.
3. International Merit Scholarship
Applicants must be international students who meet two of the following four criteria:
a. 195 TOEFL exam score (71 on Internet-based exam, 525 on paper exam),
b. 3.0 college GPA (an 88 or 3.25 overall high school average may be substituted),
c. 1170 combined reading/writing and math SAT,
d. and/or are a member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.
Value of Scholarship:
The Alfred State International Freshman Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. International Cultural Scholarship: up to $3,000 annually
ii. International Excellence Scholarship: up to $7,000 annually
iii. International Merit Scholarship: up to $3,000 annually
Scholarship Application Guide:
These scholarships require no special scholarship application; all admitted first time freshmen students who are eligible, are automatically considered for these scholarships.
