Scholarship Summary:
Cornell University practices need-aware international admissions and provides financial aid to admitted international students and undocumented students who apply for financial aid and have demonstrated financial need.
International applicants who do not apply for financial aid when they apply for admission (and who are admitted) will not be eligible to apply for financial aid at any time as an undergraduate at Cornell. Applicants who anticipate the need for financial assistance at any point during their undergraduate course of study at Cornell must apply for aid when they apply for admission.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for financial aid consideration, applicants must;
i. Be International fee-paying students
ii. Demonstrate significant financial need
iii. Apply for an undergraduate degree at Cornell and be admitted
Value of Scholarship:
Cornell Financial Aid varies in amount and is dependent on the established aid that each applicant needs.
Cornell meets 100 percent of admitted international undergraduates’ demonstrated financial need with annual aid offers that include Cornell grants and an annual work-study award,
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete the College Scholarship Service CSS Profile, as soon as possible after October 1, 2024.
a. Cornell’s undergraduate CSS Code is 2098
b. If your parents are divorced or separated, both of your biological/adoptive parents – your custodial parent and your noncustodial parent – are required to complete separate CSS Profile Applications;
- Applicants who are unable to submit the online CSS Profile should contact the school via e-mail at intl-finaid@cornell.edu well in advance and prior to the stated application deadlines
- CSS Profile fee waiver requests must be sent to intl-finaid@cornell.edu by the stated application deadlines
ii. After receiving your CSS Profile application, Cornell may request additional forms or documentation. Requests are initiated by Cornell, via the College Board's Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC).
- If you receive an IDOC request: Upload signed copies of requested documents via your IDOC Student Dashboard.
iii. Cornell practices need-aware international admissions and the offer of admission is directly linked to your ability to meet expenses. This means interest in or need for financial aid is one factor amongst many considered when making admission decisions.
