Applications for this scholarship will end as follows;
i. For Early Action and Decision I applicants: November 15, 2024 (CLOSED)
ii. For Early Decision II applicants: January 15, 2025
iii. For Regular Decision II applicants: March 1, 2025
Scholarship Summary:
HWS offers generous scholarships and grants to incoming freshmen students (domestic and international) which recognize outstanding academic and personal achievement gained through hard-work and commitment. Annual scholarship and grant amounts are divided evenly between the fall and spring semesters.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 or equivalent
Value of Scholarship:
The HWS Freshmen Scholarships range up to $40,500 annually and are namely as follows;
i. Trustee Scholarship:
ii. Elizabeth Blackwell ‘49 Scholarship
iii. Bicentennial Scholarship
iv. Faculty Scholarship
v. Alumni Scholarship
vi. Finger Lakes Scholarship
vii. Special Interest Awards (stackable with the above awards)
Recipients must meet satisfactory academic progress, uphold community standards and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Apply to Hobart and William Smith Colleges using the Common Application.
ii. Applicants now do not need to complete a separate scholarship application to be considered for a merit scholarship at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Indicate interest by selecting "yes" to merit scholarship interest in your Common Application questions.
- Qualification is determined through your admissions review process. Each student can only be awarded one scholarship.
