Scholarship Summary:
Saint Mary's offers a number of scholarships, bursaries and awards to undergraduate students (Canadian and international) that have been established with the support of alumni, staff, community members, and businesses. These awards require a separate application and supporting documents. Admissions Awards can only be applied for after you are accepted for admission.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for the Admissions Awards, students must:
• Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at Saint Mary’s University.
• Must be accepted to Saint Mary's University by Feb 15.
• For the Sobey Innovation scholarship, applicants must be Canadian, have a minimum admission average of 90% or higher admission average or a minimum IB Diploma score of 36 and have gained admission into a Bachelor of Commerce program.
• For the Presidential/Presidential International Baccalaureate/Santamarian Scholarship, applicants must have a minimum admission average of 95% or higher, or an IB result of 36+. Domestic and international students are eligible for these awards.
Value of Scholarship:
The Saint Mary’s Named Scholarships are valued as follows;
• The Presidential Scholarship and the Presidential International Baccalaureate Scholarship are valued at $9,000 (CAD) per year and are renewable over four years for a total of $36,000 (CAD).
• The Santamarian scholarship is valued at $5,000 (CAD) per annum and is renewable over four years for a total of $20,000 (CAD).
• The Sobey Innovation scholarship is valued in academic year 1 as $20,000 (CAD). The renewal value in academic years 2-4 is CAD$10,000 per year. The total value of the scholarship over four years is CAD$50,000 (10 awards available)

• Complete Parts 1 & 3 of the Admission Awards application
• Submit a 750-word personal essay based on your community involvement, contribution to school life and plans for the future. This could include participation in student government, athletic achievement, extra-curricular activities, volunteer and/or paid work.
For the Sobey National Innovator Scholarships application
• Complete Parts 1 & 3 of the Admission Awards application
• Submit a 750-word personal essay based on your community involvement, contribution to school life and plans for the future. This could include participation in student government, athletic achievement, extra-curricular activities, volunteer and/or paid work.
• Submit a copy of your resume.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from your high school principal, guidance counsellor or teacher.
