Scholarship Summary: 
University of New Hampshire is delighted to award freshmen merit scholarships to the most academically competitive applicants (domestic and international) with excellent academic records in a strong college preparatory curriculum and consistent achievement. Academic achievement in the classroom is the most critical factor in awarding merit scholarships at the University. Scholarships are intended to recognize, and reward behaviours valued by UNH.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible, students must, 
i. Be entering for full-time undergraduate study at UNH
ii. Must obtain a minimum weighted GPA of 3.10

UNH recalculates each applicant’s GPA using a weighted 4.0 scale using core academic courses in English, math, science, social science and foreign language.  Electives that fall within one of the five core academic courses will be included in the UNH recalculated GPA.

Value of Scholarship: 
The UNH Freshman Academic Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Trustees Scholarship: $9,000 for NH residents, $14,000 for non-residents {Required: Above 4.0 weighted GPA}
ii. Chancellor’s Scholarship: $7,000 for NH residents, $12,000 for non-residents {Required: 3.90 - 4.00 weighted GPA}
iii. Presidential Scholarship: $5,000 for NH residents, $9,000 for non-residents {Required: 3.70 - 3.89 weighted GPA}
iv. Dean’s Scholarship: $3,000 for NH residents, $7,000 for non-residents {Required: 3.50 - 3.69 weighted GPA}
v. Director’s Scholarship: $1,000 for NH residents, $5,000 for non-residents {Required: 3.10 - 3.49 weighted GPA}

No additional application required. Recipients will be selected at the time of application review for admission.
