Scholarship Summary:
The UNM International Amigo Scholarship entitles awarded international students (undergraduate and postgraduate) to a waiver of the non-resident portion of tuition. Students must meet renewal requirements each semester.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for the International Amigo Scholarship is as follows;
Freshman Applicants:
i. 3.5 GPA on a US scale in upper secondary/ high school coursework
OR
ii. 3.0 GPA on a US scale AND either an ACT score of 26 OR SAT score of 1240
OR
iii. 3.25 GPA of with at least 30 credits of university-level transferable coursework.
Master or PhD applicants:
i. 3.0 GPA on a US scale in previous Undergraduate Degree Program.
ii. Admission to a full-time degree-granting program (Managed Online Programs are not eligible.)
iii. Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders - F1 or J1.)
iv. No prior attendance at UNM in the current application degree level.
Value of Scholarship:
The UNM International Amigo Scholarship are valued as follows;
i. Undergraduate: A waiver of the non-resident portion of tuition - a value of more than $20,000 per year.
ii. Postgraduate: A waiver of the non-resident portion of tuition - a value of more than $15,000 per year.
