Scholarship Summary:
All U.S. and Permanent Resident applicants who have been admitted to Gustavus will be automatically considered for the renewable Dean’s merit-based scholarships. International students are eligible for the Count Folke Bernadotte Memorial Scholarship.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must;
i. Be admitted for undergraduate study at Gustavus Adolphus
ii. Show significant academic achievement, service, or leadership in their high schools, churches, and communities.

Value of Scholarship:
The Gustavus Adolphus College Freshmen Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
1) Gold Scholarship: Annual award starting at $25,000, is in recognition of past achievements and in anticipation of your future success at Gustavus.
2) Dean's Scholarship: Awards starting at $34,000 annually, recognize students who show significant academic achievement, service, or leadership in their high schools, churches, and communities. 
3) President's Scholarship: Awards of up to $38,000 annually represent the College's financial commitment to academic excellence, one of the five core values. 
  • Past recipients ranked near the top of their graduating class, enrolled in academically challenging high school courses, and typically earned a composite score of 30 or higher on the ACT or 1400 on the SAT.
4) Count Folke Bernadotte Scholarship for International students: Awards typically ranges from $20,000 - $45,000 per year and is assigned based on a number of factors, including academic success, extracurricular involvement, and demonstration of financial need

Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no separate scholarship application; eligible undergraduate students will be reviewed automatically for a merit scholarship upon admission.
