Scholarship Summary: 
The Scott Scholars Program at Hastings College is designed to help develop the next generation of leaders for Nebraska and beyond. The program targets high achieving domestic freshmen students pursuing studies in business, science and entrepreneurial-related disciplines, who are passionate about exploring their development and potential inside and outside of the classroom.
The program, funded by the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation, allows seven incoming students each year to receive a renewable scholarship. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for a Scott Scholars Award, students must; 
i. Apply and be admitted to Hastings College.
ii. Qualify for a Crimson (GPA: 4.0 and above) or Ambassador (GPA: 3.78-3.999) academic scholarship as determined by your high school GPA.
iii. Major or double major in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business/Economics or Math/Computer Science 
iv. Have a minimum ACT score of 26+ or SAT of 1240+ 

Value of Scholarship: 
i. Scott Scholars receive a four-year renewable scholarship that covers 100 percent of tuition, fees and room and board — plus the $2,000 travel stipend annually to help cover costs to attend a conference, fund a research project or support an internship.

ii. Scott Scholars can also participate in an annual excursion to attend leadership or other events in Nebraska or across the country and other programming coordinated by the program’s director.

Note: In addition to up to seven students being accepted into to the Bronco Scholars Program, one full tuition scholarship will be available to non-Scott Scholar eligible participants. 

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply for the Bronco Scholars Program Award;
i. Upon admission, qualified students are to complete the Bronco Scholars Day in-person or online registration form (coming soon), including providing a brief activities and leadership resume

ii. During the In-person Bronco Scholars Day which will hold on Feb 18, 2024, students will interview with Hastings College faculty in a small group setting, as well as interact with a professional facilitator who will conduct a high energy group leadership activity. The day concludes with a reception for family, scholars and faculty. The event includes an introduction and welcome, followed by an interview session, a break and then a second interview session. One interview session will be a discussion-style conversation, while the other will be an individual response style.

iii. The Online/Virtual Bronco Scholars Day which will hold on Feb 25, 2024 will follow the same format as the in-person event.

iii. Scholarship finalists will be notified before March 15, 2024.
