Scholarship Summary:
All graduating high school seniors (US citizens and residents only) are automatically considered for academic scholarships after they apply for admission to SMC and send us their official high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores. Academic scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning in September of the year before you plan to begin classes. Apply to SMC early for a better chance of receiving an academic scholarship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be enrolled in at least nine credit hours
ii. Obtain a minimum GPA of 2.75 (may be calculated as early as end of junior year of high school)
Value of Scholarship:
The SMC Undergraduate Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Presidential Scholarship: covers up to a maximum of $2,000 per semester toward tuition, fees, housing, or other educational expenses up to $8,000 over four consecutive semesters {3.85 GPA required}
ii. Award of Distinction: Covers up to a maximum of $1,500 per semester toward tuition, fees, housing, or other educational expenses up to $6,000 over four consecutive semesters. {3.65+ GPA required}
iii. Award of Excellence: Covers up to a maximum of $1,000 per semester toward tuition, fees, housing, or other educational expenses up to $4,000 over four consecutive semesters. {3.25 GPA required}
iv. Roadrunner Scholarship: Covers up to a maximum of $2,000 ($500 per semester) toward tuition, fees, housing, or other educational expenses over four consecutive semesters. {2.75 GPA required}
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no separate scholarship application; simply apply for admission into an undergraduate program to be considered.
