Scholarship Summary: 
St. Olaf offers competitive academic scholarships to incoming undergraduates (domestic and international)  that recognize achievement and potential for academic, artistic, service, and leadership success. These merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of the application through the St. Olaf Admissions Office.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
Eligibility for all academic scholarships is based on information provided in the Common Application, including test scores, high school transcripts, and letters of recommendation. A distinguishing feature of St. Olaf’s academic scholarship program is its emphasis on academic accomplishment in combination with other kinds of involvement and achievement, hence a minimum criteria is not set for scholarship candidates but instead a student’s academic performance and potential is evaluated on an individual basis.

Requirements for the Buntrock Award
The selection of Buntrock award recipients is based primarily on academic performance in high school and is highly competitive. In awarding these scholarships, St. Olaf seeks exceptional students with energy and initiative, independence, originality, a sense of humor, and concern for others.

Value of Scholarship: 
The St. Olaf First-Year Academic Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Buntrock Scholarship: $31,000/year {recognizing students with outstanding academic accomplishment and exemplary achievement across many facets of the high school experience}
ii. The Regents Scholarship (a renewable award of $30,000 per year) recognizing students with outstanding academic accomplishment;
iii. Presidential Scholarship: $29,000/year {recognizing salutary academic achievement}
iv. Dean’s Scholarship: $27,000/year {recognizing a strong and sustained academic achievement}
v. Faculty Scholarship: $26,000/year {recognizing a balanced record of consistent academic achievement} 
vi. St. Olaf Scholarship: $23,000/year {recognizing academic achievement}

All students receiving an Academic Merit Scholarship will also receive a $3,000 St Olaf Campus Housing Scholarship that stacks on top of the academic scholarship
