Scholarship Summary:
Alvernia University offers scholarships to each admitted international freshman wishing to earn an undergraduate degree as a traditional day student at the main Reading campus.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for an international student scholarship, an applicant must;
• Be a full-time, degree-seeking international undergraduate student attending mostly daytime classes.
• Have earned a minimum 3.0 overall cumulative GPA by the May 1 scholarship application deadline.
• Meet English proficiency and financial specifications.
Value of Scholarship:
The Alvernia International First-Year Scholarships are namely as follows;
i. Presidential Scholarship: $26,000/year
ii. Trustees' Scholarship: $25,000/year
iii. Veronica Founder's Scholarship: $23,000/year
iv. Achievement Scholarship: $21,000/year
v. Heritage Scholarship: $19,000/year
The above scholarships are renewable as long as recipients maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, continue be a full time student and engage in service to the University and the community.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an admissions application into Alvernia.
- Interested students must complete a separate scholarship application in addition to an application for admission.
ii. After being admitted to the university, undergraduate international students can apply for this scholarship opportunity,
iii. Every international undergraduate student must submit all grades from all previous schools attended.
- The applicant must submit all their grades to be evaluated; for international transcripts must be evaluated in USA system evaluation via NACES member institutions.
