Scholarship Summary:
OU offers a variety of scholarships for admitted incoming domestic freshmen. Applicants are encouraged to retake the ACT and/or SAT through April 30 and send their seventh semester transcript for scholarship update consideration. A student will be offered the highest tuition waiver based on their qualifications.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be US citizens or permanent residents
ii. Must obtain one of the following qualifications; 24-27 ACT or 1160-1290 SAT and 3.25 GPA or top 10% class rank (for Oklahoma residents)
iii. Must obtain one of the following qualifications; 24-25 ACT or 1160-1220 SAT and 3.5 GPA or top 10% class rank (for Oklahoma nonresidents)
Value of Scholarship:
The OU Freshmen Scholarships are valued as follows;
For Oklahoma residents
i. Award of Excellence: $4,000/year (31 ACT or 1390 SAT (or greater) and 3.5 GPA)
ii. Distinguished Scholar: $3,000/year (29-30 ACT or 1330-1380 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
iii. University Scholarship: $2,500/year (28 ACT or 1300-1320 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
iv. Academic Achievement: $2,000/year (24-27 ACT or 1160-1290 SAT and 3.25 GPA)
For Oklahoma non-residents
i. Award of Excellence: $17,000/year (31 ACT or 1390 SAT (or greater) and 3.5 GPA)
ii. Distinguished Scholar: $15,000/year (29-30 ACT or 1330-1380 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
iii. University Scholarship: $13,000/year (28 ACT or 1300-1320 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
iv. Academic Achievement: $11,000/year (26-27 ACT or 1230-1290 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
v. Honor Award: $10,000/year (26 ACT or 1230 SAT (or greater) and 3.25-3.49 GPA)
vi. Merit Award: $9,000/year (24-27 ACT or 1160-1290 SAT and 3.5 GPA)
Scholarships also will be offered to test-optional students based on the holistic review of the application, with the highest weight given to academic rigor and high school performance.
Scholarship Application Guide:
All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships when they apply by December 15, including students who apply as test-optional.
OU will also superscore ACT/SAT scores and allow students to self report scores for admission and scholarship purposes. These scores must be verified at the time of enrollment.
