Scholarship Summary: 
The Griffith Chancellor’s Scholarships are for Australian students with compounding educational disadvantage that may impact their ability to commence and complete their degree and for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to achieve their full potential. There are multiple scholarships opportunities available within the suite of Chancellor's Scholarships.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible you must:
•  be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
•  be a Griffith University undergraduate student (this includes commencing and continuing students)
•  demonstrate educational disadvantage based on a comprehensive assessment by the University
•  not have completed the requirements for an Australian bachelor award unless such an award is a prerequisite to your undergraduate program of enrolment and there is no alternate pathway into that program
•  have a GPA of 4.5 or above (this applies to continuing students only)
•  demonstrate sound academic potential by having achieved an ATAR above 85 or equivalent ( ATAR 74 or above will be considered for the Inclusive Scholarship ONLY)
•  not be in receipt of any other scholarship funding.

Value of Scholarship: 
The Griffith University Chancellor’s Scholarships is a maximum base value of A$3,000 for one year or 80 credit points (equivalent to A$375 per 10 credit points).

To ensure students with the highest needs are supported, eligible students may receive additional funding of A$1,000 (A$125 per 10 credit points) for each of the following:
•  are from a regional or remote area within Australia
•  are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (Confirmation of Heritage may be requested)

Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment categories:
1. Financial hardship
2. Home Environment and Responsibilities
3. English Language Difficulty
4. Personal Illness and Disability
5. Educational Disruption
6. Relocation within Australia.

Priority will be given to students who:
are first year commencing undergraduate students
are not in receipt of any other scholarship funding (excludes Vice Chancellor’s Academic Achievement Scholarship)
are not in receipt of any other Commonwealth-funded scholarship, such as the Relocation Grant, and in accordance with any Commonwealth legislation (relates to scholarships funded by ISSP )
either demonstrate the potential for, or the proven ability for successful academic progression
students who have been awarded previously.
