Scholarship Summary:
UniSQ will offer a number of Destination Australia Scholarships (Domestic) to support domestic students commencing full-time on-campus studies in an eligible program at UniSQ Toowoomba. The program provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships for UniSQ domestic and international students, with the aim to promote tertiary education in regional Australia.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
Applicants must:
• be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
• have accepted an offer to study full-time, on-campus in Toowoomba, in a program with a 2-year duration
• commence their study at UniSQ in Semester 2 2023:
o as a student that is new to tertiary study
o as a student that is transferring from another institution
o at a program level higher than what was previously studied at UniSQ (e.g., moving up to an undergraduate or postgraduate program)
• maintain full-time, on-campus (Toowoomba) enrolment for the duration of the scholarship
• maintain a sound level of academic achievement for the duration of the scholarship
• reside and maintain ongoing residency in Toowoomba or surrounding regional areas for the duration of the scholarship
o approved 'surrounding regional areas' must be classified as 'regional' under the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard Remoteness Areas (2016)
Value of Scholarship:
Each scholarship will have a maximum value of A$30 000 to be paid over two years.

Applicants must:
• submit a personal statement (600 words maximum), in response to the following:
o What influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at UniSQ?
o How you see yourself as a future professional within your field?
o Why are you interested in studying in a regional area in Australia?
• provide evidence of past academic achievement as directed in the application process.
• provide proof of residence as directed in the application process.
*Priority will be given to applicants:
• studying a program aligned with the Australian Government 's National Skills Priority List
• from underrepresented groups in tertiary education, including those who are:
o from a low-socioeconomic background (low-SES)
o first in family to tertiary study
o living with a disability
o First Nations people.
*Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
