Scholarship Summary: 
PVAMU University Academic Scholarships are offered to recent high school graduates (domestic and international) entering into college for the first time. Upon completion of successful admissions and acceptance into the University, all admitted students meeting this criterion are automatically considered for these awards. University scholarships are awarded through the Office of Marketing and Recruitment. Award availability is limited and is awarded based upon admission date and competitiveness.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
The minimum criteria for the University Academic Scholarships are as follows:
Must have graduated from a high school within 12 months of enrolling at Prairie View A&M University.
Student cannot be considered a transfer student from another college or university.
Must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. (3.25 on a 4.0 scale)
Must have a minimum SAT score of 1190 (New SAT) Verbal, Writing and Math only or 24 composite ACT score. The writing component is required.

Value of Scholarship: 
PVAMU University Academic Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Regents’ Student Merit Scholarship: covers up to $10,000 per academic year for tuition and mandatory fees. 
  • Each Regent Scholar will receive additional scholarship funding to meet the cost for up to 18 credit hours, on campus housing, meals and books ($600 per semester). 
  • Regents’ Scholars who are non-residents are eligible for an out-of-state tuition waiver (3.50/4.0 GPA and 1260 SAT/26 ACT).
ii. Presidential Academic Scholarship: is valued as $11,400.00 per year (3.25/4.0 GPA and 1190 SAT/24 ACT)

The above University Scholarships are renewable up to four years (eight semesters) provided the student earns 30 semester credit hours per academic year with the minimum required cumulative GPA.
