Scholarship Summary:
The University of Vermont is committed to helping students lower their cost of attendance through merit-based (non-need based aid) scholarship and will automatically consider prospective, first-time, first-year Vermont undergraduate students for a number of merit scholarships.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:
i. Admitted Vermont first-year students
ii. Demonstrate strong academic performance.
Value of Scholarship:
The University of Vermont In-state Freshmen Merit Scholarships are namely as follows;
i. Vermont Scholars Award: $10,000/year
ii. Patrick Family Scholarship: $7,000 - $8,000/year
iii. Justin Morrill Scholarship: $5,000/year
iv. Akol Aguek Scholarship: $1,000/year (Awarded to new admitted first-year and transfer Vermont residents who have left their home country as a refugee, and who have demonstrated academic talent; will be awarded in addition to any previous scholarships awarded)
