Scholarship Summary:
Hampden-Sydney College (a men’s only college) awards competitive freshman scholarships to select students (domestic and international) who have demonstrated the highest levels of academic achievement and leadership and who understand the dedication to scholarship necessary to be successful in the challenging liberal arts curriculum.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for Hampden-Sydney freshmen scholarships, applicants must;
i. Demonstrate excellent academic potential
Value of Scholarship:
The Hampden-Sydney Freshman Scholarships are namely as follows;
i. Birthplace scholarship - $40,000
ii. Cushing scholarship - $30,000
iii. Venable scholarship - $27,500
iv. Middlecourt scholarship - $25,000
v. Penshurst scholarship - $20,000
vi. Garnet & Grey scholarships - $10,000-$17,500
All the above scholarships above are renewable annually, provided the renewal criteria are met.
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no separate scholarship application; students who have been awarded a scholarship will be notified after acceptance from the College.
