Applications for this scholarship will end on the 4th of February, 2025 (1st Tuesday in February).

Scholarship Summary: 
Southwestern University awards merit scholarships to qualified freshman students (domestic and international) based on multiple facets such as, GPA and test scores, class rank, voluntary experience, presented in their application for admission. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for a merit scholarship, applicants must;
i. Be admitted for undergraduate study at Southwestern

Value of Scholarship: 
The Southwestern University Freshman Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. 3.95+ GPA* / Top 5% class rank: $30,000 - $36,000
ii. 3.75 – 3.94 GPA* / Top 6-10% class rank: $29,000 - $35,000
iii. 3.50 – 3.74 GPA* / Top 11-15% class rank: $26,000 - $32,000
iv. 3.25 – 3.49 GPA* / Top 16-25% class rank: $25,000 - $31,000
v. 3.00 – 3.24 GPA* / Top 26-35% class rank: $23,000 - $29,000
vi. Below 3.00 GPA* / Below 35% class rank: $17,000 - $23,000

*Recalculated GPA is defined as grades earned in your core courses in high school: English/language arts, math, science, social studies and foreign language.

Merit scholarship notifications are typically sent electronically within 72 hours of a student’s offer of admission, and can be found by visiting the Student’s Personal Application Portal
