Application deadlines for this scholarship are dependent on the application deadlines of individual programs.

Scholarship Summary: 
The University of Vermont has a number of Graduate Teaching and/or Research assistantships for incoming graduate students (domestic and international) which are awarded through many of the departments and programs offering graduate work.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:
i. Be admitted for graduate study at the University of Vermont 
ii. Demonstrate strong academic performance. 

Value of Scholarship: 
The University of Vermont Graduate assistantship award includes payment for the Single Student Health Insurance Premium and a tuition scholarship for up 9 credits per semester (and up to 5 credits in summer if on a 12-month assistantship), as well as a scholarship to cover the Comprehensive Fee during the period of the assistantship.

The Graduate Student Senate fee is the responsibility of the student.  

In addition to the above awards, stipends will also be offered. For AY 2024-25, 
  • 9-month academic appointments carry a minimum stipend of $24,000; 
  • 12-month academic appointments carry a minimum stipend of $32,000.
