Scholarship Summary:
The Simon Family Scholarship is for out-of-state, U.S. citizen or permanent residents who are first-time undergraduate students admitted to the College of Arts & Sciences in the University of Vermont.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The Simon Family Scholarship annual scholarship is awarded to one student in the incoming first-year class who
i. Demonstrates a record of academic excellence, acts as a leader in their community, and is actively involved in community service;
ii. Demonstrates a high-level of financial need as determined through the FAFSA (must file by February, 4, 2024).
- Consideration for this scholarship requires submission of the FAFSA by February 4, 2024 to ensure UVM has received your FAFSA for review by the scholarship application deadline.
Value of Scholarship:
The University of Vermont Simon Family Scholarship is valued as $20,000 annually. The scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years beyond the first year (a total of 8 semesters or until you graduate, whichever comes first) provided a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and continued enrollment within the College of Arts & Sciences is maintained.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission into UVM by January 15.
ii. Complete the Simon Family Scholarship Application by February 4.
iii. A small number of students will then be invited to an on-campus visit to be interviewed by faculty and staff.
iv. Additionally, the recipient is expected to make a significant contribution to the UVM campus or the Burlington community through their involvement in student clubs, community service organizations, and leadership roles.
